Other Sections

Other sections: according to your profile...

Other sections can be added to the standard sections of your CV, depending on your profile. Do not put in them in just for fun, but only if you have pertinent information that needs to be included. A few examples are:

A Summary section

The summary consists of two or three lines that briefly present your profile (professional experience, skills, major achievements…). It is placed immediately after the title of your CV or else replaces the title. It must be brief and contain only the essentials.

An Objective section

Here you describe your career objective. Contrary to the summary, the point here is not to present who you are, but rather, who and what you would like to be in the near future. Do not use banal formulations that do not mean much (i.e., I am looking for a stimulating job), but instead, put forward a description of your professional objectives that are adapted to the position being offered.

A Technical Expertise section

For technical profiles, it could be a good idea to put all the purely technical skills in a separate section at the beginning of the CV. Don’t just clump them all together, but make sub-sections.

A  Community Involvement section

If your community involvement is significant (in terms of time spent, responsibilities or the number of causes involved in), it could be interesting to devote a small section to this. It would add some concrete information that would help the recruiter form a more complete picture of your personality.

A Publications section

Researchers, journalists, lecturers, etc., sometimes publish books or the results of their research. In such a case, a section listing these, as well as their dates of publication, is recommended.
