Contact Information
Contact information: only the absolute necessities
The contact information is certainly the least complicated part of your CV to put together! However, a few small mistakes may still make their way into it, so this section deserves as much attention as the rest.
You must include as part of the section on contact information: your first name, your last name, your telephone number(s), your email address and possibly your address.
Do not give out personal information
You should never include your age, birth date or family situation (married, single, with or without children…). All these things do not concern the recruiter! The same goes for physical appearance (height, weight, eye or hair colour, etc.) except in certain professions such as actor, for example.
The address is not obligatory
It is not obligatory to include your address. However, for certain positions that require a high level of availability (for example, a job that requires you to be available quickly on call), it can be a good idea to include it if you live close to the work place. In other situations it can work against you; if you live far from the company that is offering a position, the recruiter may find that worrisome; best not to mention it in that case.
Avoid wacky email addresses!
Keep your wacky email addresses (like bubblegum@email.ca) for your friends and choose something serious like first name.last name@email.ca.
