Activities and Interests

Your activities and interests: showcase them!

This section is 100 % optional, although it can be very useful to make you stand out from the crowd.

Of course, it will not be because of these that you will land a job… but some recruiters begin the interview by addressing the leisure activities and interests that appear on your CV, in order to break the ice and create a relaxed atmosphere. Also, don’t write just anything, as you may find yourself embarrassed if someone asks you about it.

Unusual activities serve to make you stand out

Unique activities tend to capture attention. If you practice fencing, are a wine aficionado, or have traveled the world with a backpack, you certainly have more of a chance to arouse the curiosity of potential employers than with more common activities (bicycling, movies, reading…).

Advanced level sports:  talk about it!

If you practice a sport at an advanced level, you would be wrong not to include it. The regular practice of a sport, participation in competitions, and any possible victories, demonstrate your involvement and your perseverance. Not everyone can combine work with regular and intense practice of a sport.
